Carpet Gardens at Sunset

About

The famous Carpet Gardens are the centrepiece of Eastbourne's Promenade. Don't miss the vibrant displays of bedding plants, special planting features and cactus displays.

Eastbourne is proud of its sucess in the Britain in Bloom Awards and promotes a mix of traditional bedding and innovative tropical style planting between the Western Lawns and the Pier.

Here you will find shrubs from all over the world, including Agaves from Mexico, Cordylines and Phormiums from New Zealand and numerous plant species from around the Mediterranean. These plants thrive in Eastbourne's mild climate.

Film/TV Location

Eastbourne seafront’s famous colourful Carpet Gardens have provided the backdrop for numerous memorable scenes, including Little Britain’s Ladies played by Matt Lucas and David Walliams.
