Celebrate Outdoor Life and Extreme Sports at Eastbourne’s Beach Life Festival
11th July 2022
Beach Life – the ultimate celebration of extreme sports, outdoor life, and fun by the sea – comes to Eastbourne this month.
The free event on Saturday and Sunday 16 and 17 July kicks off the summer holidays and promises to showcase local music, street food delights and seafront sports.
Princes Park is the main location for the event with a live music stage from 11am-6pm on both days. Acts appearing include Bowie Music, The School Disco Band, The Spooky Wagons, Pretty Kachina, Hot Detroit and many more.
The park is also the setting for stalls offering a selection of street food from Greek to Thai, and there will be a bar stocked with plenty of beers, wine, spirits, and soft drink choices.
For those seeking some fun and adventure, Buzz Active on the promenade will run sailing, windsurfing and stand-up paddleboard sessions during the weekend.
Water sports taster sessions are available for £10 with Buzz Active from 10.30am each day for all ages.
There will be XL Stand Up Paddleboard racing at 2pm run by Buzz Active on Sunday and groups can enter a team now. For information and to book taster sessions or enter the XL SUP visit www.beachlifefestival.co.uk/
Skating is a major part of the Beach Life Festival and Eastbourne Sk8school will be performing skating displays along with the ever-popular Roller Derby at the Cage at Fisherman’s Green. For more information on displays visit http://eastbourneskatefestival.co.uk/
On Saturday 16 July from midday there will be open skating tips and tricks followed by SK8Jam and skate lessons, and a full roller disco into the night. On Sunday 17 July there will be a similar programme with an open-air roller disco.
Sovereign Skate Park will also be open as normal during the weekend for skateboarders, scooter and BMXers.
