Eastbourne and Beachy Head have featured in many Hollywood movies, British films, iconic TV shows and advertising campaigns. From Harry Potter to James Bond, Agatha Christie and Little Britain - explore the many locations featured on film.
The Eastbourne Redoubt was built to keep Napoleon's armies out of Britain. The Redoubt Fortress is one of only three surviving Napoleonic Redoubts in the UK and is recognised by English Heritage as being of national importance.
For over 200 years, the Redoubt has stood ready to defend the Eastbourne coast. It formed part of a chain of fortifications built to deter Napoleon's forces in the early 1800s, and it still stands as a unique monument to that time.
The UK's highest chalk sea cliff Beachy Head is one of Eastbourne's most famous TV and film locations. Some of your favourite dramatic film scenes were actually filmed here in Eastbourne!
The scene from James Bond movie, The Living Daylights, where a secret agent parachutes from a Land Rover was actually filmed off Beachy Head but audiences were led to believe it was taking place in Gibraltar!
Sports and recreation facilities include those for football, rugby, cricket, indoor and outdoor bowls, tennis, children's playground and BMX skate facility. The northern part of the Park has a large lake, shady lawns and extensive area of semi-natural woodland. A café is located in the centre of the Park with adjacent toilets open all year during busiest hours. (Both indoor and outdoor bowling arrangements should be checked with the clubs).
Eastbourne seafront’s famous colourful Carpet Gardens. The bright flower beds are a tradition in the town since 1880 and have provided the backdrop for numerous memorable scenes, including Little Britain’s Ladies played by Matt Lucas and David Walliams.
