Getting to Eastbourne and Lewes by train couldn’t be easier. Southern Railway provide regular, direct services from London Victoria to Eastbourne that take just 90 minutes. From Gatwick Airport, there are also direct services, and these take less than an hour.
If you’re travelling along the coast, there are frequent services from Brighton, and the trip will typically take under 40 minutes.
The Eurotunnel runs under the English Channel from Calais in France to Folkestone in England. For Eastbourne and Lewes, the most convenient station is Ashford International, which has direct connections to Paris, Brussels and Lille. From Ashford International, there are frequent trains to Eastbourne and Lewes. You can travel from Ashford International to Lewes in just over 90 minutes, and from Ashford International to Eastbourne in just over 80 minutes with Southern Railway.
Eastbourne is just 44 miles south of the M25, under an hour from London Gatwick Airport and 20 mins from Newhaven ferry port. If you're travelling in from the West, the A259 is one of the most spectacular scenic routes on the south coast. This is the route that the Brighton & Hove Coaster buses take between Eastbourne & Brighton.
