Airbourne has supported local charities with more than £100,000 in donations over the last decade, thanks to our kind airshow visitors.
Each year Airbourne selects local charities to take part, some chosen by our Bucket Collection partners - the Rotary Club of Hailsham alongside a team of volunteers.
Following an incredible response, this year's People's Charity, as chosen by you, is Forward Facing.
Forward Facing supports families in Sussex whose children are living with long term or life-limiting conditions, or those who have suffered bereavement or hardship. The charity are inclusive and welcome children from a wide range of circumstances.
The emotional, physical, and financial toll on having a child with a serious illness can be incredibly overwhelming and leave families feeling isolated. Forward Facing recognises the emotional, physical, and financial toll that families caring for children with serious and life-limiting conditions are dealing with.
The charity provide inclusive events where supported families can forget their daily struggles and have fun for a few hours and make lasting memories, as unfortunately some don’t know what the future holds. They also provide therapy for families dealing with trauma or bereavement.
Care for the Carers is a local East Sussex charity supporting anyone who looks after someone who could not do without their help, often referred to as unpaid caring. There are estimated to be over 50,000 carers in the county, with 99% saying they feel stressed, 94% alone/isolated, 96% that their wellbeing has been affected and 92% their physical health, as a result of their caring role.
“I need more money. I need more time. I need someone to share the weight of responsibility with.”
Care for the Carers provides services including direct support, groups, specialist counselling, an information and advice network, and free activities programme. They also have specialist services for young carers, young adult carers (aged 16-25 years old) and mental health carers.
Your generosity will ensure no one is left to care alone, funding vital services that are 100% reliant on donations, including our free activities programme and Young Carers service.
