Eastbourne Beer Festival Heads Back Out on Tour

Following the success of last year’s event, the Eastbourne Beer Festival on Tour supported by CAMRA returns with over 30 local pubs participating in the three month long festival.
The tour, sponsored by Harvey’s Brewery, offers punters the opportunity to taste a variety of ales and ciders while discovering some of the great local pubs, historic hostelries and countryside inns with the opportunity to win prizes along the way.
The free tasting passport can be picked up at a variety of locations including The Lamb Inn, The Eagle, The Stage Door and at the Eastbourne Tourist Information Centre. Real ale and cider fans can collect stamps at each pub along the trail for the chance to claim a free festival t-shirt and win exclusive prizes including an exclusive Harvey’s Brewery Tour. Passports can also be collected from the Eastbourne Beer Festival itself, when it takes place from 10 – 12 October.
Eastbourne Borough Council Lead Cabinet Member for Tourism and Enterprise, Cllr Margaret Bannister said “With such a diverse variety of pubs in the local area, the Beer Festival on Tour is a great opportunity to get out and about to sample some of the county’s finest local brews. We’re pleased to have extended the tour this year to now include more pubs in neighbouring Hailsham as well as those in Eastbourne, Pevensey and some of the pretty villages of the South Downs.”
All pubs on the tour have been selected with the help of CAMRA’s South East branch for their array of real ales, traditional ciders and close links to public transport on bus and rail routes.
The festival will end with a closing night event on Friday 1 November at The Eagle, from 6.30pm.
Tickets are also on sale now for the Eastbourne Beer Festival event which takes place between 10-12 October at the new Welcome Building in the Devonshire Quarter.
This perennially popular event will see a wide variety of local and national cask ales on offer plus great selection of ciders, perries and a variety of international bottle beers & wines too alongside a live music and top entertainment line-up. With Friday night already sold out, punters should snap up tickets quickly, with prices starting at just £7 (£5 student/CAMRA member), to avoid missing out.
