Cheers! Tickets to Beer Festivals Go On Sale
3rd February 2022
Beer enthusiasts will be raising a glass this week as tickets for Eastbourne’s two popular festivals are released.
Tickets for both the Beer & Cider by the Sea festival in May and the Eastbourne Beer Festival in October will be available to buy from today, with organisers urging people to book ahead to avoid disappointment.
Beer & Cider by the Sea takes place over three days on Friday, Saturday and Sunday 20, 21 and 22 May on the seafront’s Western Lawns.
There will be an array of fine ales and cask ciders to enjoy, all kept in the best cellar conditions plus bottled beers of the world, wines and gins.
CAMRA volunteers will be on hand too to offer advice and tips for a perfect beverage and plenty of seating and a warm welcome are guaranteed.
Across the weekend, both family friendly sessions and evening events are available with plenty of mouth-watering food stalls, and the festival offers a tasty selection of drinks with more than 100 real ales, ciders and perries to choose from.
Each festival session brings a variety of entertainment and live music from acoustic and rhythm and blues.
The annual winter Eastbourne Beer Festival is on Friday and Saturday 7 and 8 October and will take place in the newly refurbished Winter Garden. This year’s festival includes a brand new Friday afternoon session especially for serious real ale afficionados looking for their pick of the beers, along with friendly chat, without live music.
Those attending can take their pick from award winning tipples, local favourites or those with a quirky name, while Friday evening and Saturday sessions bring a selection of live music and entertainment to provide a lively backdrop to the perfect pint.
Eastbourne Borough Council’s Lead Member for Tourism and Culture Margaret Banister said, “Here in Eastbourne we are lucky enough to have not one but two fantastic established and extremely popular beer festivals.
“Beer & Cider by the Sea is a mouth-watering three-day event in May on the Western Lawns overlooking the sea. The Beer Festival in October will be held inside the historic Grade II listed Winter Garden.
“Both events are ideal for anyone wanting a fun afternoon or evening out, or those wanting to discover new local real ale. Also on offer at the festivals will be fine wine and gin, and tasty food as well as a great line up of music featuring some of the best local talent including solo artists and bands.
“The two festivals are now an important part of the Eastbourne social calendar and as such many sessions are sold out very quickly. I would urge anyone wanting to go to book well in advance to avoid being disappointed.
“Tickets to the event also make great gifts whether it be a birthday present or even something special for Father’s Day. These events are always very popular and well supported so the message is to book in advance.”
