Get Ready to Raise a Glass at Eastbourne Beer Festival

Eastbourne Beer Festival returns to the Winter Garden next week with a tantalising selection of brews, all available to view now in the Tasting Notes released this week.
The two-day festival is on Friday 7 October and Saturday 8 October with four sessions featuring a vast selection of award-winning real ales, sensational ciders, bottled beers from around the world, plus wines, gin, perries and soft drinks.
An array of entertainingly named brews will be on offer, from the 90’s Oasis inspired Shakermaker brewed by Sussex-based BritHop to the Czech-style blonde beer Rock the Kasbek. Those with a sweet tooth can enjoy the dark decadence of Triple Choc and the marshmallowy sweetness of Rocky Road, or opt for fruity flavours such as the strong grapefruit of Blimey.
For something a bit different, try the Laughing Frog for a lasting French countryside aroma, the Lord Marples deep mahogany ale or celebrate with the Aussie-style Party Wave. Along with a range of vegan brews, the real ale offering is complete as the Star of Eastbourne, with subtle hints of marmalade, returns to its festival home.
For cider and perry fans there is a fruity selection of ciders including Dark Cider the Moon, Old Harry Rocks and an easy-drinking offering from Sussex-based Bignose and Beardy.
Festival-goers can also dance the night away on Friday and Saturday to a variety of different music including Zachary Dogwood, Bowie Music, Watson Brothers and Hot Detroit, and there will also be hot food available to purchase.
Eastbourne Borough Council’s Head of Tourism and Culture, Annie Wills said, “Eastbourne Beer Festival really is a fantastic fun event in the town’s social calendar. Beer enthusiasts come from all over and the festival guarantees award-winning drinks, brilliant live music in a super setting with a wonderful atmosphere.
“It is particularly good to see that this year’s selection includes drinks from even more Sussex breweries and new local breweries producing new brews. It’s all very exciting and I hope that everyone has a great time.”
The sessions are Friday and Saturday from 11.30am-4.30pm and 6pm-11pm each day. Friday afternoon will offer a quiet session, giving seasoned drinkers the opportunity to be the first to sample the widest selection of real ales with a background of mellow pre-recorded music.
Entry to the festival – in the Winter Garden within the Devonshire Quarter - includes a free festival glass and set of tasting notes.
Cash is not used to purchase drinks at the event. Customers can buy drinks tokens - with cash or card – from the sales desk upon arrival.
