Feel the breeze in your hair, discover dramatic coastline, wildlife and relax in the evening with a cold glass of wine as the sun sets on a gleaming array of yachts.
Morning
Enjoy an exhilarating adventure boat trip on board a Kraken RIB boat trip from Sovereign Harbour (or try Sussex Boat Trips at Newhaven for a view of the Seven Sisters all the way to Beachy Head). Get a unique view from the sea of the Beachy Head Lighthouse and discover more about the geology, flora and fauna of this stunning piece of coastline. Be prepared to get a little wet, the high speed boat trip is great fun and a thrilling ride.
Lunch
After a thrilling trip, its back on dry land and time for a spot of lunch at one of the Waterfront's many eateries. From the family friendly Harvester to Thai, Italian, Indian and simple Fish and Chips, most have either al fresco dining or stunning glass fronted views. Our pick is 4 Season's Brasserie showcasing the best local produce and wine.
Afternoon
Enjoy a gentle or challenging walk in the afternoon sun at Beachy Head. If you thought the cliffs looked impressive from the sea, you'll be amazed by the awesome views from the UK's highest chalk sea clifftop. Did you know Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Quidditch scenes were filmed here?
Enjoy a scenic drive (or join the hop on/off Sightseeing Bus from the pier) and walk the gentle Peace Path, or for something more challenging, walk up from the seafront at Dukes Drive and stop at the pub and The Beachy Head Story free exhibition, visitor centre and gift shop for a fascinating insight into the Downs. In addition to the permanent exhibition which provides a journey through 90 million years of history, the centre often showcases temporary heritage and art exhibitions, along with creative study and photography walks and free stargazing nights.
Stroll further along to Belle Tout lighthouse for another viewpoint, featured in 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang', and BBC's 'The Lives and Loves of a She Devil' and continue onto the stunning cliffside beach at Birling Gap for a magnificent view of the Seven Sisters cliffs.
To return to Eastbourne, hop on the Sightseeing Bus or Brighton & Hove Coaster Bus 12/12A/12X/13X (check timetables for details).
