Win £200 in the Visit Eastbourne Photo Competition!

Entries to the Visit Eastbourne Photography Competition are now open! With a £200 cash prize for the winning photographer and £100 cash prize for two runners up, entries are welcomed from both professional and amateur photographers.

Entries are open from 28 June – 30 September and there are 3 categories for photographers to choose from:

Classic with a Twist

Let your creativity run free and capture iconic locations in a way we’ve never seen before. Whether it’s an unusual composition, taking advantage of the light at different times of the day or something else, re-invent the classic shots we’ve come to know and love!

Undiscovered Eastbourne

Know of a hidden gem that often gets overlooked for the more popular tourist attractions? – now is the time to share it!

Fun in the Sun

This category is all about capturing your holiday moments! From ice creams on the beach and family days out to soaking up the sun in Eastbourne’s surrounding parks and gardens – whatever encapsulates your holiday in Eastbourne!

How to Enter

Ready to enter? Simply email your best photo to photos@eastbourne.gov.uk stating the category you would like to enter your photo into and the name you would like credited for the photography by 30 September 2021. Photographers can enter as many photos as they like in any of the categories and can also share their photos on social media using #EastbourneThroughMyLens.

Photos must be high resolution with a maximum file size of 2MB, with a total maximum size of 8MB per email.

Terms and Conditions

1. All entries must be emailed to photos@eastbourne.gov.uk and received by 23:59 on 30 September 2021. Entries received after this date will not be entered into the competition.

2. To be counted, entrants must state the category they are entering and include the name they would like to be credited for the photography.

3. There is no limit on the number of photographs any photographer can enter or the number of categories each photographer can enter.

4. One winner or runner up will be selected from each category, with a total of 3 photographers receiving a cash prize.

5. All three categories will be considered when choosing the winning photograph, with the winning photographer being awarded a £200 cash prize.

6. Two runners up will be selected, one from each of the remaining categories after the winning photo has been chosen, with each runner up receiving a £100 cash prize.

7. A panel of judges from Visit Eastbourne and the Eastbourne Hospitality Association will select the winning photograph and the two runners up based on how well the photos encompass the theme of the category entered into. The judges’ decision is final.

8. By entering the competition you confirm that you are the sole photographer, that it is your original work and that you own the copyright and any other intellectual property rights of each photo. Visit Eastbourne cannot be held responsible for a photograph entered into the competition without the original photographer's permission or for entrants falsely claiming to be the photographer.

9. By entering the competition you grant Visit Eastbourne, as part of Eastbourne Borough Council, the non-exclusive irrevocable licence to reproduce, enlarge, publish or exhibit, on any media, your photos. This may include, but is not limited to, Visit Eastbourne social media channels, Visit Eastbourne eNewsletters, Visit Eastbourne website, press release distribution to regional, national and international outlets promoting Eastbourne, and in printed marketing materials for example, the Visit Eastbourne Holiday Guide. 

10. Entrants will retain copyright and will be credited for their photos where possible on publication by Visit Eastbourne for their photography. Failure to publish a credit due to error or oversight shall not be deemed a breach of this condition.
