About
Friends of Eastbourne Seafront had observed younger children playing on their scooters and bikes on the popular seafront skatepark, realising this wasn't always appropriate, they wanted to provide a free, safe, age appropriate and fun area for younger children to learn to ride their bikes and scooters and to learn a little road safety too. Working with Eastbourne Borough Council, and with funding from the John Jackson Charitable Trust, they consulted with local children and families and a design, along with playground games, was created and installed by Playsafe, and in July 2023, the children's cycle track was officially opened by MP Caroline Ansell.
Benches have been installed to give parents and carers somewhere comfortable to sit, with a beautiful sea view to watch their children play. Bins have been provided by Eastbourne Borough Council.
Friends of Eastbourne Seafront hope children of all ages will enjoy using the cycle track, they will need to bring their own scooter or bike, equipment is not provided, its free and fun.
