The location of an English Heritage Blue Plaque at 11 Glynde Avenue dedicated to Eric Ravilious, who lived here and studied at Eastbourne School of Art.Ravillious was Eastbourne's most famous painter, book illustrator and engraver. Whilst serving as a war artist he failed to return from an air-sea rescue mission off Iceland inn 1942. The plaque is located at his childhood home.
Much of Eric Ravilious' work can be found at the Towner Art Gallery, a contemporary Art Gallery that is free to the public and open Tuesday - Sunday.
