Traditional Tudor Wassail - Family event

About

Join us at Michelham Priory House & Gardens for a magical evening of dancing, drumming, fire and feasting to bless the trees and wish them good health for the year ahead!

Bring along a musical instrument, decorate yourself in foliage and feathers and join the torchlit procession to wake the apple trees from their slumber, scare away evil spirits and celebrate winter like the Tudors did.
The event will be led by traditional experts with entertainment from Brighton Folk Choir, Blackpowder Morris and Gallyard Tudor Dancers who will help transport you back 500 years to when Wassailing was common across Sussex.
Capacity will be limited and pre-booking is essential with no tickets available on the evening.
Our on site cafe will be serving hot and cold refreshments.
This event is suitable for all ages, no alcohol will be served at this family event. A Wassail event for adults only, with alcohol on sale is taking place from 6pm to 9pm on the same day. Due to the nature of this event we are not allowing dogs.

Note: entry to this event is by ticket only. No special offers (Gardener's World, Blue Peter badges) will be accepted. Free entry for members of The Sussex Archaeological Society does not apply at this event.
