The Half Term holidays and Halloween are just around the corner and as always there’s plenty to keep the family entertained in Eastbourne in October.
There’s some spook-tacular events taking place throughout the holidays including activities for children, theatre shows and special events at adventure parks.
Younger children are guaranteed a fun time at The Beachy Head Story during the holidays with two workshops – Make your own Sea Monster Snot and Make your own Sea Urchin Pom Pom.
The drop-in workshops are 11am-3pm on Tuesday 25 October and Thursday 27 October. Tickets are £2.50 each and suitable for ages five and older. Find out more and book here.
At Knockhatch Adventure Park on the A22, there’s some ghostly goings on from 24-31 October with The Sherlock Holmes Experience: The Hound of the Baskervilles, Containment, and a Death Eater Big Top Disco. All are included in the entry price.
Drusillas Park on the A27 at Alfriston also has plenty to keep the family entertained with Shriek Week from 22-30 October. Visitors can enjoy Haunted Heights, Mummy Mayhem along with a Halloween photo competition and face painting, in addition to their usual attractions and animals.
Theatre buffs can enjoy performances by 10CC, London Philharmonic Orchestra, comedian Russell Kane, classical ballet and operas, television personality Alan Carr and The Three Degrees. All are taking place at the Congress Theatre during October. Find out more about upcoming theatre shows here.
Younger children can join in the fun at Dr Frankenslime’s Spooktacular Halloween at The Grove Theatre, Grove Road, on Monday and Tuesday 24 and 25 October from 11am-12pm. The show is filled with laughs and some impressive experiments and is suitable for children aged four to eight.
Some spook-tacular wicked treats are also in store for visitors to the DQ Terrace Bar and Café at Eastbourne’s Welcome Building this Halloween.
From pumpkin spiced lattes and spooky style cakes to some decidedly scary decorations, the popular contemporary venue in the Devonshire Quarter will also be serving its usual traditional menu which includes a wide range of breakfast dishes, sandwiches, salads, jacket potatoes, sharing boards, light bites, cakes, and snacks as well as wines, beers, soft drinks, teas and coffees and smoothies. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available.
The Stage Door – between the Winter Garden and Devonshire Park Theatre - will be hosting its own Halloween Party on the night of Saturday 29 October. Fancy dress costumes are encouraged and there will be music by Bedraggled.
On Friday 28 October, there will be two Disney Villains Discos at 12pm and 2.30pm at KiddiCity at Langney Shopping Centre. The cost is £12.95 per child which includes one free accompanying adult. Fun, games, and prizes are promised with a big dose of diva disco.
