Autumnal vibes are in the air, the trees are showing their full colours, and the nights are drawing in, spooky season is almost here and with October half term soon approaching - here’s some ideas to make the most of this special time - for adults and the kids!

The Bandstand has party nights for adults and afternoon fun for the kids. The Zoots Halloween Party on 26 October is strictly for the grown-ups but who says dressing up is just for kids? Adults are seriously encouraged to join in on the costumes!

Halloween fun doesn’t have to be just for the kids, Boom Battle Bar has adult nights out sorted with axe throwing, beer pong, and forget crazy this is crazier golf - find your fun!

Head to the farm trail to search for the missing scarecrows then take on the Halloween themed Maize Maze! For the ultimate half-term treat the Grand Hotel has a spook-tacular Halloween themed afternoon tea with enchanting treats and friendly frights. Make the most of the shorter days, dig out the wellies and head down the miles of Eastbourne beach to go rock pool for mini sea creatures and fossil hunting. Check the tide times to maximise your chances of spotting sea-life in the thousands of rock pools. The steps by Pinnacle Point (also known locally as The Sugar Loaf) near the Holy Well spring bring you up to the foot of the South Downs Way, and the nearby Helen Garden park where you can grab a hot drink from the café.

Knockhatch have half-term horrors planned from 26 October until 3 November to make a visit to the family fun park even more frightfully good!

Shriek Week returns to Drusillas meet the spider experts (selected dates), experience Haunted Heights - a live action haunted house experience, grab photos across the park at the Halloween photo props and so much more.

Michelham Priory one of the UK’s most haunted buildings is open throughout the half term but it’s not all spooky there’s a delightful family adventure available to visitors, the Harvest Hunt is suitable for all ages to take a self-led activity trail around the stunning grounds and uncover the treasures of the season.
