About
Elmer the Patchwork Elephant is visiting Eastbourne this year for a celebratory anniversary visit – and bringing 11 of his Elmer friends with him for Elmer’s Art Parade Eastbourne.
Can you find all 12 Elmers around the town centre?
Your Eastbourne BID is organising a trail of 12 decorated Elmer sculptures based on David McKee’s beloved book series around the town centre for children to spot.
Inspired by the town’s status as a centre of artistic excellence and home of the current Turner Prize, all 12 Elmers will be in position from 10th February to until 14th April.
Locations include Bankers Corner, The Beacon, Terminus Road - near Maybugs, Victoria Place - near Qualisea, opposite Belgian Cafe, Towner, Memorial Roundabout, Hyde Gardens, Little Chelsea - near Urban Ground, Town Hall, Enterprise Shopping Centre and inside the Train Station.
Each Elmer features a hidden letter - decipher the phrase to win a treat (from Eastbourne Visitor Centre in the Welcome Building). All those completing the word puzzle will be in with a chance of winning an Elmer gift box with fantastic prizes.
David McKee wrote and illustrated 30 Elmer books since 1989 and the popular series has sold more than ten million copies in 60 languages around the world.
Elmer will also be making a splash in the town when we celebrate World Book Day on 7th March 2024!
Collect a trail map from the Welcome Building to find all the Elmers and reveal a secret phrase, or download from the website at www.elmerineastbourne.co.uk
