Eastbourne has miles of coastline right on it's doorstep. With hidden forests, award-winning parks & gardens, and the gateway to the South Downs National Park, the newest National Park in the country, there's plenty of reason to get your boots on and go out exploring!
The South Downs National Park is around 1,600 square kilometres and stretches all the way from Eastbourne to Winchester, wrapping up the Lewes District along the way. The dramatic chalk cliffs of Beachy Head are a well-known spot within the park and are one of Eastbourne's main landmarks. Why not make your way to Belle Tout Lighthouse, a decommissioned Lighthouse that now acts as a Bed & Breakfast. From here, you'll have the picture postcard perfect image of the Beachy Head Lighthouse down at sea level.
Eastbourne is so much more than just a town, and there are gems to be discovered throughout. Sovereign Harbour is the biggest composite marina in the UK and home to a number of restaurants and shops. Discover the Redoubt Fortress and more heritage through one of our heritage trails.
