Take to the skies with a bird’s eye view of Eastbourne

This summer the Western Lawns will be home to the 35 metre tall ‘Eastbourne Eye’, offering panoramic views across the town.
The big wheel will be open from 9 July – 2 August and available for 10 minute rides from 11am-8pm Sunday to Thursday and 10am-9pm Friday to Saturday.
Eastbourne Borough Council Lead Cabinet Member for Tourism and Enterprise, Councillor Margaret Bannister said “This is a fantastic addition to Eastbourne’s seafront this summer season and offers a unique perspective of our special town.
With social distancing remaining a part of daily life, the individual glass pods will be restricted to one household at a time and cleaned after every use, allowing for some safe, family fun.
As government lockdown restrictions begin to relax, we are thrilled that we have been able to add socially distanced events to Eastbourne’s events calendar, ensuring the appropriate safety measures are in place. Available for residents to enjoy, the arrival of the Eastbourne Eye also coincides with the return of visitors to our town from 4 July, giving Eastbourne’s tourism economy a boost.”
Socially distanced queuing systems will be in place and the use of hand sanitizer before and after entering the pods is compulsory for each rider.
Alongside the big wheel, children will be able to jump for joy with the addition of the ever popular bungee trampolines. For safety reasons, children must be over 1 metre tall to take part.
Tickets for the Eastbourne eye are priced at £5 per adult and £4 per child under 1.4 metres, with family tickets just £15 for 2 adults and 2 children or 1 adult and 3 children. Tickets for a bungee trampoline session cost £5 per child. All tickets can be purchased on site, with contactless payments encouraged.
