4th August 2021
Encouraging residents and visitors to put their best foot forward, Eastbourne Walking Festival is set to return from 17 – 26 September.
The inclusive 10 day festival features more than 75 free-to-join walks with rural, urban and coastal guided routes, alongside a wide range of self-guided itineraries, providing the perfect walk for everyone, no matter their age or ability.
Eastbourne Borough Council Lead Cabinet Member for Tourism and Leisure, Councillor Margaret Bannister said “With more people than ever reconnecting with nature and reaching for their walking boots over the past 18 months, the Eastbourne Walking Festival promotes the endless health and wellness benefits of walking whilst encouraging walkers to discover a part of Eastbourne and the surrounding areas they may have never explored before.
The varied walk calendar includes a wide range of themed and informational walks, from ‘Nordic Walking’ taster sessions to a history packed route featuring ‘Downland Trails and Smugglers Tales’ ensuring that, whether you are an avid rambler or are new to walking, you are bound to find a walk to suit you.
Plus, with the South Downs Way recently being named as the ‘10th most beautiful hiking trail in the world’ there is no better reason to start exploring Eastbourne on foot!”
